Patagonia Outfitters

Patagonia is a land of myth and legend, where giant trout roam and the rivers remain unspoiled. Our partners at Patagonia Outfitters have spent over 40 years perfecting the art of guided trout fishing in this pristine corner of Argentina. Led by the renowned Jorge Trucco, they were the first to introduce foreign anglers to the wonders of Patagonia fly fishing in 1978, and they have been dedicated to improving and refining the experience ever since.

This program is second to none, with English-speaking guides, exceptional lodges, top-quality equipment, and access to the most coveted rivers in the region. Even non-angling guests will relish a variety of daily activities such as horseback riding, hiking, sightseeing, shopping, or simply unwinding with a captivating read. Nestled in the heart of this prolific trout fishing area, the 23,000-acre private estancia is conveniently located a short distance from the regional airport at San Martin de Los Andes. FLY FISHING

The Aluminé River is renowned for its impressive dry fly fishing and prolific hatches, in addition to the opportunities for nymphs and streamer fishing, which can yield substantial rainbow and brown trout. The river’s banks are adorned with willows, creating an ideal environment for both aquatic and terrestrial insects. Its exquisite beauty is further enhanced by panoramic vistas, set against vivid canyon walls.

Fly fishermen can choose from a range of daily options, including drifting in rafts or drift boats, or wading in the numerous riffles, pools, and runs of this exceptional river.
